Is The Tonight Show new this week?

That is four new hours in a normal week, outside holidays and breaks; the Thursday, Oct. 1 encore was an exception, and the week of Oct. 12 was repeats on every night.

Why is Fallon a repeat on Friday?

NBC stopped ordering new Friday episodes in 2024 and kept the four-night week. Fridays now replay a recent hour, usually one from the previous fortnight; the block above shows whether that week's replay has been named yet.

The reason was budget rather than ratings. Fallon had just extended his hosting deal through 2028, and he had already been skipping Fridays each summer, so NBC made the summer pattern permanent.

About a week. NBC sends a weekly guest release on Thursdays, and the listings services pick it up the same day, so by Friday the whole of the following week is usually posted.

When is it taped, and can you be in the audience?

Tapings run in the late afternoon, not at 11:35. Most start at 5 p.m. at Studio 6B inside 30 Rockefeller Plaza, which is why clips can appear online hours before the hour airs.

Seats are free. NBC hands the lottery to 1iota, and a reservation is not a guarantee of admission — check-in is at the 50 W. 50th Street entrance and you have to be at least 16. Getting there when check-in opens is the whole trick.

Peacock, the next morning, with no extra window. Segments go up free on the show's YouTube channel overnight, and an antenna gets the live NBC feed for nothing.
