No. On a Friday night, The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Daily Show are all reruns, and that is by design rather than a one-off. The weeknight network hosts now make new episodes Monday through Thursday.

Is Jimmy Fallon new tonight?
Not on a Friday. NBC cut The Tonight Show from five original episodes a week to four in September 2024, and the Friday slot has carried a rerun ever since.
The reason given at the time was budget, not ratings or Fallon himself; he had just extended his deal through 2028. Before the change, Fallon already dropped Fridays every summer, so NBC simply kept the summer schedule running all year.
Tonight's repeat is the Aug. 20 hour. His last new one was Thursday's, with Nicole Kidman, Domhnall Gleeson and Leon Bridges, which we broke down in Thursday's late-night rundown.
Why is Jimmy Kimmel Live a rerun on Friday?
Kimmel has worked a four-night week for years, and ABC labels the Friday hour an encore. This week's pick is Tuesday's show with Andrew Garfield and Joey King, which ABC listed on its own weekly schedule.
There are exceptions, and they tend to follow sports. When ABC carried Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Friday, June 6, it scheduled a fresh Kimmel to follow the game.

Is there a new Daily Show on Friday?
No. Comedy Central makes The Daily Show Monday through Thursday, and the listings have nothing new until next week.

What about Colbert and Seth Meyers?
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is gone. CBS ended the franchise on May 21, 2026, and gave 11:35 p.m. to Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, with Funny You Should Ask after it.
Seth Meyers is still on summer break, so NBC fills 12:35 with repeats. New episodes of Late Night resume Monday, Sept. 21.
