The bigger question most people are typing right now is when the show comes back at all. NBC has filled the 12:35 slot with repeats since mid-August, and the first new hour of Season 14 has a date and a booked guest.

12:35 a.m. ET, right after The Tonight Show. NBC lists it as 12:35/11:35c, so the clock changes depending on which time zone you are in.

Because the episode starts after midnight in the East, the listing for "Monday" is technically early Tuesday morning. Set a recording for the day the guest is announced, not the calendar date on the clock.

Which nights are repeats?

Friday, always. NBC runs the show four nights a week, the same pattern The Tonight Show moved to in 2024, and there is no Friday edition to miss.

Longer gaps happen too. Late Night takes several multi-week breaks a year, and during those stretches every night at 12:35 is a rerun pulled from earlier in the season. That is what has been on since the middle of August.

Who is the first guest back?

Kelly Clarkson, which is a neat piece of booking. Her own daytime show ended Aug. 31 after seven seasons, so her first stop after wrapping it is somebody else's couch.

Three nights are set after Monday. Jon Hamm, Sabrina Impacciatore and Taylor Tomlinson take Tuesday; Ethan Hawke and Zara Larsson have Wednesday; Kenan Thompson and Sandra Hüller close the week Thursday.
