Talk Show Guests This Week (Sept. 8-11, 2026): Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Gal Gadot and Ted Cruz
Bottom line: the fall season starts Tuesday, not Monday, and it starts loud. Sandra Bullock, Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman, Gal Gadot and Sen. Ted Cruz are all booked between Sept. 8 and Sept. 11, across six shows that were dark a week ago.
Two things shape the week. Labor Day wipes out Monday, and Friday is thin because Fallon, Kimmel, The Daily Show and WWHL no longer make new Friday episodes.
Tuesday, Sept. 8 — everything restarts at once
The View opens Season 30 with just the panel: Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro. Live with Kelly and Mark, one day into its own new season, has Lizzo, Kal Penn and Tift Merritt.
At night, Jon Stewart hosts The Daily Show on a Tuesday — unusual for him, and a direct consequence of the holiday. Andy Cohen reopens WWHL with Carole Radziwill and Daisy Toye, Fallon takes Sandra Bullock and Mike D, and Kimmel gets Andrew Garfield and Joey King.
Wednesday, Sept. 9 — the busiest night
Fallon books Matthew McConaughey, Alix Earle and country singer Riley Green. Kimmel counters with Mariska Hargitay and Kaia Gerber.
Daytime is where the news is: Ted Cruz and Lizzo both sit with The View, an odd pairing on paper and the reason that hour will get clipped everywhere. Gal Gadot and memory coach Jim Kwik take Live, while WWHL fills its couch with Ariana Biermann, Gia Giudice and Ava Dash.
Thursday, Sept. 10 — Kidman and Gadot
Nicole Kidman visits Fallon with Domhnall Gleeson and Leon Bridges. Gal Gadot moves from Live to Kimmel, which is how a press week usually looks from the inside.
Andrew Garfield does the same trip in reverse, going from Kimmel on Tuesday to The View on Thursday. Sandra Bullock lands on Live the same morning, two days after Fallon. WWHL closes the night with Jennifer Pedranti and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
Friday, Sept. 11 — daytime only
Sherri Shepherd is on both The View and Live, alongside Maisie Williams on the former and Theo James and Steven Curtis Chapman on the latter. That is the whole board.
Late night is empty on Fridays now. The one Friday show still running is Real Time with Bill Maher, back on HBO that night after a week off.

Five names on that list are booked twice in four days, which is the clearest sign that the fall promotion calendar reopened with the shows. Franky Perez is the outlier — he is listed as Kimmel's music slot every night of the week.

Central and Mountain viewers subtract an hour from the network shows; Pacific gets the 11:35 pair at 11:35 local. The two cable half hours run a West Coast feed, so their clock times hold coast to coast.
Live is the exception, because a syndicated hour belongs to your station rather than to a network. Nine in the morning is common on ABC affiliates, but a 10 a.m. slot or a post-news slot is just as normal, and the season premiere is a good week to confirm yours.
Which shows are still missing?
Late Night with Seth Meyers is out until Sept. 21, seven weeks after its last new episode. Comics Unleashed and Funny You Should Ask, which now hold CBS's 11:35 and 12:35 slots, resume first-run episodes that same week.
The Drew Barrymore Show starts Season 7 on Sept. 14, so daytime is short one hour until then. Saturday Night Live opens Season 52 on Sept. 26.
